The British Handball Association is today launching its ‘British Handball Calling’ campaign to find talent from across the world for its men’s and women’s senior, Under 20 and Under 18 teams.

Capitalising on the legacy of the London 2012 Olympic Games, British Handball is putting the call out for current players who are eligible to play for Great Britain.

Whether you play handball in North, South or Central America, Africa, Asia, Europe, the Caribbean, Oceania or even Antarctica if you were born in Britain or have a British parent, you are likely eligible to represent Great Britain and we would love to hear from you.

If you think you qualify to play for Great Britain, just go to www.britishhandball.com/gb-teams/play-for-GB enter your details, and we will get back to you.

Commenting on the new initiative, British Handball Chairman Paul Bray said “We have a many very good young players coming through our UK talent pathways and we cannot help but feel that there are a few very experienced players out there, who are eligible for UK citizenship, who could really come and add value and share their top flight experience with our young players.”

To help you think about the possibilities, here are three current, top-class global handball stars who also share a common British heritage. Hear from Angelica Wallen, Aitor Ariño and Christian O’Sullivan.

Great Britain’s teams compete in a variety of European Handball Federation (EHF) and International Handball Federation (IHF) competitions on a regular basis.

These include, the EHF age group Championships (F17, F19, M18 and M20), qualification matches for the EHF Men’s and Women’s European Championships, IHF Emerging Nations and IHF Trophy competitions.

In addition, numerous training camps and friendly matches take place across Europe with more planned in 2019 and beyond.

If you are already playing in English or Scottish league competitions, then you should not apply, as you will already be monitored under the existing development programme.
