European competition changes for GB teams

Post published December 16, 2020 (Updated December 16, 2020)

Due to the ongoing disruption to the handball calendar caused by the COVID-19 outbreak, the European Handball Federation (EHF) has made further changes to its competition calendar, which will impact a number of Great Britain teams.

The M18 (Men’s Under 18) and M20 (Men’s Under 20) EHF Championships, originally scheduled for summer 2020 and subsequently re-arranged for January 2021, have been affected.

The M18 EHF Championship, featuring the GB U18 men’s side, will now take place in Bulgaria from 15-22 August 2021. GB have been drawn into a group where they will face Czech Republic, Faroe Islands and hosts Bulgaria in the group stages.

Unfortunately, the M20 EHF Championship has been cancelled.

There are no changes to the upcoming European competitions for our two younger age category women’s teams. The 2021 W17 and W19 EHF Championships are scheduled to go ahead as planned next summer, with the W19 event taking place from 10-18 July in Italy and the W17 event taking place from 7-15 August in Georgia and Lithuania. The draw will be made in due course
