GB Men’s Head coach Ricardo Vasconcelos has named an 18-strong squad for the IHF World Championship qualifiers from 5-7 November in Helsinki, Finland.
The squad will travel to the Finnish capital on Wednesday 3 November to allow a preparation day ahead of the three-day tournament. It will be the first opportunity for the full squad to train together in over two years, following the Covid restrictions.
This will also be GB’s first appearance at a World Championship qualifier in almost 10 years, and has been made possible after British Handball recently secured UK Sport funding for the first time since 2012.
GB is in group 2 and will play Estonia, Georgia and hosts Finland, and will be underdogs in a tough group. Only the top two teams progress to the next qualifying round.
