GB Under-18 Men’s Head Coach John Pearce has announced his squad to participate in the Under-17 European Open in Gothenburg, Sweden, from 1-5 July.
This will be the first international competition for this new cohort of players as they start on the GB talent pathway. The young players in the squad will have the opportunity to get some valuable international experience as the team starts its preparation for next year’s Under-18 EHF Championship.
GB has been drawn in a tough group and will face the Czech Republic, Russia, Switzerland, Luxembourg and hosts Sweden.
John Pearce commented “this is a big challenge for these young players, especially on days with two matches, but it will be a great experience and opportunity for them to see first-hand what is expected of them in this programme“.
