GB U19 Women’s Joint Coaches Bill Baillie and Gary McCafferty have named their squad for the 2019 W19 European Championship in Bulgaria from 13-21 July 2019.
Following their final training camp in Nottingham the squad was narrowed down to 16 players and three reserves.
The team will fly to Bulgaria on 11 July 2019, where they have been drawn in pool A alongside Serbia, Bulgaria, Iceland and Greece.
With regular Joint Coach Gary McCafferty unavailable for the trip to Bulagria, Morten Helweg will stand-in as assistant coach.
Bill Baillie commented "This will be another tough test for this squad, with nine changes from last year’s IHF Trophy squad, but we are looking forward to the challenge as we continue to build our team and more importantly develop young female handball players for the future. Already we have good experience within this young squad with tournaments and games in Portugal, Ireland and Denmark under their belt.
Gary McCafferty “I am naturally disappointed not to be able to travel with the team, but will be following their progress closely. It is great for the team to be able to take part in competitions at this level and we are grateful for the financial support of the IHF, which makes our participation possible. It is clear this is a step up from last year’s competition and we are ready for the challenge"
