GB Under-20 team named for IHF Trophy

GB Under-20 Men’s interim coach Bobby White has named his team for the 2018 IHF Trophy.

The team will attend a holding camp at Stoke Mandeville on 21 October, before heading to Pristina in Kosovo for the IHF Trophy from 23-28 October. GB will play, Kosovo, Georgia, Moldova, Ireland and Malta.

Two IHF Trophy competitions are being run in tandem and the GB M18 an M20 teams are both travelling to Pristina to take part.

The team selection proved challenging with several experienced Under-20 players already called-up for senior team duty the same week in Portugal, before the IHF announced the competition in August. With those players having already bought their flight tickets, it was decided not to recall them.

Interim coach Bobby White commented “selection has been a challenge with the late competition announcement, a clash with senior team plans and several injury issues, but we still have some of the regulars available and this will also be a chance for some young up-and-coming players to gain some valuable experience.”
