German test for GB U19s

The GB U19 men’s team will be in Nordhorn, Germany, from 14-17 April to play in the U19 NVB Cup. This high level international tournament will see them face German teams Flensburg, Bremen and Nordhorn, as well as St Omar St Gallen of Switzerland and the Belgian national team.

This tournament is part of the GB U19 ongoing preparations for the EHF U20 European Championship next year. The squad is primarily self-funded, but does receive some financial support under a joint International Handball Federation/IOC programme.

Commenting on the upcoming tournament GB U19 Head coach Mark Hawkins said “The bulk of this team has been together for one year now and we are seeing real signs of progress. We are hoping to build on the encouraging results at last summer’s U18 European Championship”.
