The British Handball Association (BHA) is looking for a dedicated and experienced Governance Expert to join our Board of Directors as a Non-Executive Director. This is a vital, voluntary role designed to ensure our sport operates at the highest standards of integrity and transparency.

As we continue to develop the sport across Great Britain, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping our strategic future and maintaining excellence in our decision-making processes.

  • Location: Remote (with occasional in-person meetings)

What You’ll Do:

The postholder will lead on BHA governance matters, ensuring we align with the Code for Sports Governance and other regulatory requirements.

Beyond the BHA, you will be a key collaborator across the Home Nations, providing guidance to England Handball and Scottish Handball to promote consistency and effective governance throughout the UK.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Overseeing the BHA governance framework and decision-making processes.
  • Providing expert advice to the Board on regulatory and fiduciary duties.
  • Contributing to strategic planning and organizational development.
  • Acting as a bridge between multiple stakeholders to ensure strong governance across all levels of the sport.

Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking an individual with a strong background in sports or non-profit governance. You should have a deep understanding of the UK sporting landscape, including the roles of National Governing Bodies and agencies like UK Sport, Sport England, and Sport Scotland.
