New look GB men’s team for Portugal training camp

GB Senior Men’s Head Coach Ricardo Vasconcelos has named 20 players for the training camp in Portugal from 7-12 June, where they will play four matches against Portuguese club sides.

With no championship for the senior team this summer, this is an opportunity to rest several regular players and bring-in some new ones. Three players are selected from the Under-20 squad, while three more make their GB debuts.

They will play teams from top division clubs Porto and Povoa, as well as second division side Academico.

GB Head Coach, Ricardo Vasconcelos, said “The depth and quality of players coming through the talent pathway has allowed us to leave some of our more experienced players at home, and test a younger squad. The quality of the opposition will provide a tough challenge for the squad”.
