British Handball have confirmed that Ricardo Vasconcelos will extend his current contract as Men's senior national team Head Coach until the end of 2026. Since joining in 2017, Ricardo has been a pivotal figure in the accelerated success of the men's senior team having taken them to the final four of the International Handball Federation Emerging Nations Championships, a first for British Handball.

Announcing the news of the contract extension, British Handball Chair, Paul Bray said,

"We are delighted to extend Ricardo Vasconcelos' mandate as GB Senior Men's Head Coach for a further four years. He has done an outstanding job with the team and also shared his extensive knowledge and experience with the wider programme. We are hugely grateful for his hard work and dedication. Reaching the semi-finals of the IHF Emerging Nations Championship in 2019, four years ahead of plan, was a demonstration of the excellent work he has done, and even through the ensuing Covid-enforced break, he managed to maintain good momentum. We look forward to continuing working with Ricardo."
